Leopold Sedar Senghor (1906-2001) was a Senegalese poet, writer, politician, and the first President of the Republic of Senegal.

A renowned figure of the francophone literature, Senghor was the first African to be elected to the Académie française.

In this one-day workshop, we will study the sensual poem written by Senghor, depicting a portrait of the black woman through minutiose metaphors and breathtaking images.

Cost per class: $35 for AFKC Members and $45 for Non-Members.

The class will be held on Saturday 5/20/2023 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at Alliance Française de Kansas City, 8014 State Line Road, #210, Prairie Village KS 66208.

*Please note that classes may be postponed or canceled if 4 do not sign up for any given event. You will be notified in advance.
