Wine Tasting Class: Bordeaux Wines

for another great wine tasting class about Bordeaux Wines.

January 21st, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

at the AFKC Office

Included: wine tasting experience of five wines

from the Bordeaux region’s greatest appellations and appetizers.

The class will be conducted in French and English.

Did you know that the word Bordeaux itself stems from the French au “bord de ľeau” which means ‘along the water’ – a linguistic illustration of the region’s topography? During this class, you will learn about these “wines of terroir”. Bordeaux wines, whether red or white, are made of blends of classic grape varieties. The aesthetic labels, branded corks and stoic green bottles work together to distinguish some of the world’s best wines. Each bottle of red Bordeaux is going to deliver a different tasting experience. The age of the wine, the time in oak barrels, the climate characteristics and even which grape made up the predominant variety in the blend all will have influence.

Cost per class: $55 for AFKC Members and $75 for Non-Members.

The class will be held on Sunday 01/14/2023 from 3 to 5 pm at Alliance Française de Kansas City, 8014 State Line Road, #210, Prairie Village KS 66208.
