What is the TCF?

The TCF is the French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education. The TCF examination assesses a person’s level of French language for general purposes. It is intended for people who are not native French speakers and who, for professional, personal or academic reasons, wish to have their competency in French assessed and certified simply, reliably and quickly.

Different types of TCF:

· TCF – IRN- Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité Française

· TCF – Q for Quebec

· TCF – TP for the general Public

· TCF – DAP for students | replaced by TCF – TP+Writing

· TCF – Canada for Immigration and Citizenship

Results

The results of the TCF reliably position candidates at one of the six levels (from level A1 to level C2) of the Council of Europe’s scale.

For TCF exam, the certificate is now electronic and will be emailed to you. It takes about 2 to 4 weeks after the exam to receive the results.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING UP for an exam

1. The candidate understands that the fees are non refundable and cannot be transferred to a future examination session.

2. It is the candidate’s responsibility to check that their names and details are correct on the confirmation of enrollment, as they appear on their passport. The same details will appear on the attestation.

3. Once set, the schedule of oral examination dates and times may not be altered.

4. Candidates should arrive at the time indicated on the notification of examination timetable, which they will be receiving by email before the exam date.

5. There may be a long gap between a candidate’s written and oral examinations. The candidate understands that the oral examination will be recorded as it is required for double examination.

6. Candidates will be required to bring an official and valid proof of identity on their examination day and the notification of examination timetable. Only passports, national ID cards and photo drivers licenses will be accepted. Failure to produce one of the above mentioned IDs will deny candidates access to the examination room without refund.

7. Results are due 2 to 4 weeks after the examination day, it may take longer during the summer break. Candidates will be informed by email when we will receive the results. No scores will be given by email or phone to candidates.

8. “Attestations” must be collected by the candidate at the examination centre within 4 weeks of notification and with official proof of identity. Alternately, certificate may be sent in a USPS prepaid envelope and proof of delivery provided by the candidate.

9. A registration is only complete once the candidate has paid the exam fee.

10. The candidate understands that exam dates may be subject to alterations or cancellations in cases of unsufficient number of candidtes and/or unforeseen circumstances.

You do NOT need to be an active AFKC member to register for a TCF session.

Registrations are open until 15 days before the exam (unless otherwise posted).

After selecting your session from the list below, you can start the registration process by clicking on the red Register button on the left side of the TCF session.
